Watching the CNN/Univision debate last night, two things became abundantly clear to me: 1. We're sitting on the cusp of history with an opportunity to advance our party platfom in ways we haven't seen since LBJ and FDR. 2. We're going to blow it if we don't get our act together.
We need to follow the lead of our top two candidates and unite this party under one banner with common goals, common hopes and common dreams. Right now, we are playing the game the Republicans want us to play. We're playing a game that they can win. They're good at divide and conquer. I'm very proud and inspired that Senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama seem to have realized this and worked their tails off to rise above it. We don't need to play by divisive Republican rules. We need to toss the game board into the air, reshuffle the pieces and redefine the rules. We need to stop the internal bickering. The more we tear Hillary or Barack apart, the stronger the GOP becomes. That party feeds on negativity and fear. We need to cut them off and let them wither on the vine. No one...not Barack, not Hillary, not anyone...can reverse Reagan and reshape the country in the Democratic image all alone or in eight years. We're not playing checkers here. We're playing chess. It will require at least two Presidential administrations to overcome and repair the damage done by Republican dominance in two thirds of the last three decades. Our best hope to achieve a multiple Presidency administration is a Clinton/Obama ticket. Here's why. Both Barack and Hillary can win. Both can be President. Both should be President. If we play the game right, both WILL be President. Senator Hillary Clinton's time is now. She's been fighting for 35 years and working all that time toward the goal of becoming President so that she could restore the General Welfare clause with Universal Healthcare and improved education. She's 61 years old. If she doesn't win now, she never will. She'll be too old to run again in 2016. She's fought for us and our ideals for decades. She's earned our support. Senator Obama is young, energetic and inspirational. He's also inexperienced, untested and unproven. If given the opportunity, he has room to grow and evolve as a politician. He has time to be patient. As Vice President, he would be able to receive the on the job training he so desperately needs. The only thing standing in the way of Obama and true greatness is a lack of experience. Obama is only 47. He has time to be Vice President then President. Sometimes you have to sit your future superstar behind the seasoned veteran to ensure the long term success of the team. We need to resist the urge for instant gratification. We need to play the game smart. Barack and Hillary want the same things for America. We need to give them the time and the opportunity to get them. We need to control the ball here. We must resist the efforts by Republicans to make us hurry. We need to play our game and dictate our rules. We need to come together and support a Clinton/Obama ticket and a 16 year presidency. |

Neither Clinton or Obama will bring change... while both of them in the White House together may do some good... there's one person who will REALLY bring change.
Ron Paul He's a republican... BUT DON'T LET THAT STOP YOU... He believes in the fundamentals of America... THE CONSTITUTION! He will uphold the values and traditions that started America out as a great nation. Ron Paul supports a strong national defense but opposes nation building... That means he WILL bring the troops home. We need a president that will fight for our feedoms... Ron Paul is the only candidate that opposes the national ID card and the North American Union (a threat to our national sovereignty). Ron Paul has never voted to raise taxes and opposes the illegal and unconstitutional income tax and the corrupt federal reserve. If you want change let's vote for the candidate that shows a plan for change and has a record to back it up. Ron Paul For President 2008 www.ronpaul2008.com YouTube Ron Paul |
